Experience Seamless Shopping on Android: A Comprehensive Review

Shimul studied pyschology as her major but never looked back at her degree once she graduated. She began her journey in college as a social media intern and eventually became a social media manager for publications like iGeeksBlog, Guiding Tech, and MySmartPrice, along with popular tech influencers like Rajiv Makhni.

For the initial years of her career, she focused primarily on social media until she joined MySmartPrice, where she stepped into the world of consumer tech writing. That's where her love for writing really took off, especially when it comes to the Apple ecosystem, Android smartphones, and finding clever tips and tricks that make everyday life easier.

When she's not reading or writing, you'll probably find her cooking and making sure everyone tries her delicious food.

Grocery shopping is one thing I really look forward to every week. In the age of quick commerce services, I'd still choose to walk into a shop and pick up my weekly groceries. The whole process feels absolutely therapeutic.

That said, it can get pretty overwhelming, too. I always make sure to write down everything I need on paper before heading out, but I still end up missing something by the time I get back home. It's honestly so irritating, because nobody's going back to the store just for a bottle of olive oil or a packet of pasta. This kept happening almost every week, so I went looking for a fix. Finally, I found an app that saved me, and it helps me keep grocery shopping the therapeutic little ritual it's always been for me.

First things first, setting up the Bring app is really easy. To get started, just log in with your email ID. Once you're all in, you can name your first list. I personally make sure to add the date of my weekly grocery shopping to the list — it helps me keep track of which list I'm supposed to follow. The best part is that I can keep adding items as they come to mind. This way, I'm always on top of my groceries, and every box is fully stocked up for the coming week.

Now I'm sure you're wondering — what's really special about this app? You can do the same thing in your notes' app, so why download a separate one? Well, this app inspires me to become a better cook, too. There's an inspiration section where I can browse through a bunch of recipes, and if something catches my eye, I just tap the recipe card and all the ingredients get added directly to my grocery list. I mean, that's just fantastic. On the recipe card, ingredients are split into two sections: things you need to buy, and things you likely already have at home, like salt or black pepper. I’m always experimenting with different recipes at home, sometimes healthy, sometimes not. So this app didn't just sort out my groceries; it's definitely turned me into a Michelin-star chef at home.

Another thing I really like about the Bring app is that it lets you store digital cards like membership cards, payback offer cards, and anything similar, so you don't have to dig through your wallet every time you're at the checkout. I've added my grocery store's membership card to it, and both the front and back are right there for barcode scanning. Which means I'm actually earning points on every shopping trip now, and at some point I'll have enough to claim free items too. That's just a nice feature to have.

You can also share your list with others. I share mine with my partner, so if there's something he needs before the week ends, he just adds it to the list himself. You could do the same with your friends, flatmates, or anyone you share a household with. I think this app really shines when used with flatmates. Multiple people can add or edit the list in real time, so everyone stays on the same page and nobody ends up buying three bottles of the same sauce because no one communicated — it just removes all that friction.

No matter where you are, your list follows

The Bring app isn't just limited to Android either. You can download it on your iPhone, connect it to Android Wear or Apple Watch, use it with Alexa or Siri, and there's even a web version if you prefer writing on a larger screen.

I use the Alexa integration a lot. If I suddenly remember I'm running low on something, I just ask Alexa to open Bring and add it to my list right then and there. And on days when I'm working on my laptop, and something comes to mind, I just open the web version and add it from there. The whole point of having a grocery list is to not forget things, and that only works if adding to the list is as easy as possible. The more places you can access it from, the better the chances that nothing slips through. I have the app downloaded on all my devices to stay connected, and that peace of mind alone makes it absolutely worth it.

Bring! Grocery Shopping List

Price model Freemium

Platform iOS/iPadOS, Android, Web

Bring! is a free shared grocery-shopping list app that lets households and groups add, edit and manage shopping lists in real time, across iOS, Android, web and smart-assistants. It offers features such as voice input, recipe-based list additions, loyalty-card storage and list organization by store-aisle.

I'm low-key attached to this app

Is this what love feels like? Because I'm a little obsessed with this app. I'm a pretty organized person by nature, and when things fall into place the way I want them to, that's when I'm at my happiest. Bring just brings that organized energy into my week in a way that nothing else really did before. My groceries are sorted, my recipes are sorted, and honestly, so am I. I'm really glad I have the habit of going out to find fixes instead of just putting up with things, because this one has truly stuck with me.
