This article covers how to record Samsung games and apps using Game Launcher, which is included on Galaxy phones since the introduction of the S7. It also covers using a third-party app like Mobizen for screen recordings, for which you need a minimum of Android 4.4.

How to Screen Record on Samsung With Game Launcher

The Game Launcher is a nifty feature on most Samsung Galaxy phones that houses gaming apps and includes settings to improve the gaming experience. It includes a handy screen-recording tool intended for recording games, but you can use it in almost any app (but not to record the Home or App screens, however). Here's how it works.

Recording your screen is different from taking a screenshot of your Samsung phone's screen.

1. Start the Game Launcher app.

   If Game Launcher isn't available in your phone's Settings menu, you must install and launch a game first.

2. Swipe up to drag the Library window (currently at the bottom of the screen) up, then tap the three vertical dots at the top right of the Library.

3. Tap Add apps.

   

4. You should see a list of all the apps installed on your phone. Tap the app you want to record, then tap Add at the top right of the screen. This adds the app to the list of games in the Game Launcher, which lets you access tools like the screen recorder when the app is running.

5. In the Library, tap the app you want to record. When the app starts, tap the Game Tools icon in the lower-left corner, to the left of the Back button in the navigation bar.

6. The full Game Tools menu should appear. Tap Record in the lower-right corner of the screen to begin recording the screen. Perform the steps you want to record.

   

7. When you're ready to stop recording, tap the Stop icon in the lower right corner of the screen.

8. To watch the complete video, tap Watch recorded video or access the screen recording with all the other videos in the Photos app.

   

How to Record Your Screen With Mobizen

If your Samsung phone doesn't include the Game Launcher, or if you prefer not to use it, there are a number of screen-recording apps available. You may opt for a third-party app if you need to record the Home or App screens, for example, since Game Launcher's recorder works only within apps.

In this example, we're using a popular and reliable third-party recording app called Mobizen. Here's how it works.

1. If you haven't already, install Mobizen from the Google Play store.

2. After it's installed, launch the Mobizen app. When it's running, you should see its icon on the side of the screen. Tap it to see your three options: Record video, see your saved content, and take a screenshot.

3. Tap the Record icon.

   If this is your first time running the app, you might need to give the app permission to record.

4. You should see a message that says "Mobizen will start capturing video." If you like, tap Don't show again, then tap Start now.

   

5. After a three-second countdown, recording will begin. Perform the steps you want to record. Unlike Game Launcher, Mobizen records everything, including Home and App pages.

   The Mobizen icon shows a timer for how long you have been recording.

6. When you're done, tap the Mobizen icon, then tap the Stop icon.

7. After a moment, Mobizen will display a pop-up that lets you either delete the video you just made or watch it. Find the completed video in the Mobizen folder in the Gallery app.
