How to Transfer Passwords between Chrome, Edge, and Firefox

We have listed methods on how to transfer passwords between these browsers below. Make sure that you are doing this on a personal computer to avoid security breaches.

From Google Chrome to Microsoft Edge:

Since Microsoft Edge is now Chromium-based, it has an inbuilt feature for transferring data from Firefox, Google Chrome, and Internet Explorer which makes it easy to share passwords.

  1. Open Microsoft Edge and access its menu by clicking on the three horizontal dots at the top right corner
  2. Navigate to Settings

  5. If your Google Chrome has multiple profiles, select the profile from which you want to import the passwords in the Profile field

  1. Open Microsoft Edge

  4. Confirm the export and enter your Windows password and finally save the passwords file as “edge passwords” in the desired location
  5. Open the Google Chrome Experiments page by visiting chrome://flags/

  8. A dialog will be displayed asking to relaunch Google Chrome in order to apply the settings.

From Microsoft Edge to Firefox:

  1. Open Firefox

From Firefox to Google Chrome:

  1. Open Firefox and navigate to Logins and Passwords from the menu at the top right corner
