Solution: Reinstalling Avast

Since the application has been glitched, we will be uninstalling it completely and reinstalling the latest version which will come with the updated virus definitions. For that:

  1. Download the “AvastClear.exe” from here.

  3. Let the uninstaller run and wait for it to complete.
  4. Download the latest version of Avast from the website and install it by running the executable.
  5. The definitions will now be up to date and the latest version of the software will be installed.

Note: This has been a known glitch with Avast and the only solution is to entirely reinstall the software.
