USB Drive is a data storage device that contains flash storage with an integrated USB Interface. It is typically removable and is much smaller in size than an optical disk. Although USB is a convenient approach to the data transfer issue, its scope is however limited by being single partitioned by default. This means that there is no division between the storage capacity of the device.

In this process, we will teach you the method through which you can create multiple partitions on the USB Drive. However, before proceeding, keep in mind that this will delete all the data present on the drive.

  1. Plug in the Device to the computer and wait for it to be recognized.

  5. Wait till “Unallocated” is shown in its details.

  7. Click on “Next” and then type in the size that you require for the first partition.
    Note: The size is in MBs and 1024 Mbs are equal to 1GB.
  8. Click on “Next” and the “Drive Letter” for the first partition will be shown.
    Note: You can also change this drive letter by clicking on the dropdown and selecting another.

  10. Click on the dropdown in front of “File System” and select “FAT32“.
  11. Click on the “Allocation Unit Size” option and select “Default“.
  12. Check the “Perform a Quick Format” option and click on “Next“.
  13. Click on “Finish” and wait till the process is completed.
  14. Now a single partition has been created on your device.
  15. Rightclick on the “Unallocated Space” in front of the first partition in the “Disk Management” window.
  16. Repeat the Above process to create a second partition.
