Why we love this MacBook Air deal
Apple's latest 13-inch MacBook Air is a classic "do-it-all" laptop for most people — thin, light, and powerful enough for everything from everyday browsing and schoolwork to photo edits and heavier multitasking. It's a bit pricey for the average student, though, so finding it on sale may be your best chance to get one.
The model on Amazon (the M5/16GB/512GB configuration) is currently discounted by $150, bringing it to $949.99 — and that matches the lowest price we've seen for this specific setup so far this year, making it an especially good time to buy if you've been waiting for a drop.

Why you'll love it
Spec-wise, this configuration hits the sweet spot in Apple's lineup: it pairs Apple's M5 chip with 16GB unified memory and a 512GB SSD, plus the model's 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display, 12MP Center Stage camera, Touch ID, and WiFi 7. Compared with older base MacBook Air configs that often started with less storage, the 512GB SSD here gives you more breathing room for apps, photos, and local files (and it's a more future-proof pick if you keep laptops for years).
In the broader MacBook lineup, the 13-inch Air is a great value for most shoppers: it's more portable (and typically less expensive) than the 15-inch MacBook Air, while MacBook Pro models cost more in exchange for extra sustained performance, more ports, and higher-end display options aimed at creators who regularly push demanding workflows. It's not ideal for performance-heavy operations like gaming or video editing, but for the average user, the 13-inch Air is a solid rig.
Even with the new $599 MacBook Neo on the scene, we still think this MacBook Air deal is worth a look as the Neo only supports one external monitor, and its 8GB of RAM, while suprisingly decent at some light multitasking, can soon get gobbled up by RAM-hungry daily apps like Chrome - something to note if you like running lots of open tabs.
