By default, Google Chrome downloads all files from the web to the Downloads folder. This works fine for most users, but if you want to change it -- or if you prefer Chrome to ask you every time -- it's a quick enough fix.
Start by clicking the hamburger menu -- the icon at the top right with three horizontal lines -- to bring up the dropdown. Click Settings > Show advanced settings and then scroll until you get to the Downloads area.
Here you'll see a field displaying your current download location. Click the Change... button to select a new one:
