Microsoft has released today an out-of-band update (KB5008295) for Windows 11 to address some issues affecting the Snipping Tool, Touch Keyboard, some built-in apps and S Mode on Windows 11. This is the same patch that the company released for Windows 11 testers in the Beta and Release Preview channels yesterday.
The company previously explained that the cause of these issues was the expiration of a Microsoft digital certificate on October 31. Since then, some Windows 11 users have been unable to use certain built-in Windows apps or parts of some built-in apps, including Snipping Tool.
You can find more details about the fixes in the KB5008295 out-of-band update below:
Today's out-of-band update should be installed automatically on all Windows 11 PCs via Windows Update. However, if you've been affected by the aforementioned issues, you can install the patch now by checking for updates manually.
