July 21 optional Windows 11 update makes it easier to get the latest Windows version out of box

July's optional Windows 11 preview update for production (non-Insider) devices is now rolling out. Bumping it up to KB5015882 (Build 22000.829), the update features enhancements to the IOPS performance and the ability to receive important notifications even when on focus assist mode. Another notable feature that has been unpacked with this release is that users will now be able to update Windows 11 during the out-of-box experience while signing in.

Here's what you can expect with this new update, and you can check the full changelog at Microsoft.

There's also one known issue with this particular update, where IE mode tabs in Microsoft Edge might stop responding when a site displays a modal dialog box after installing this update. As a workaround, Microsoft recommends making use of Known Issue Rollback (KIR).

Finally, to get this update navigate through Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update. You will find the link under the Optional updates section, where you can download and install the update.
