Microsoft announced the Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22504 with some nifty improvements. The new Windows 11 update has initially been released to Insiders in the Dev Channel only. Key features in this update include personalization upgrades, a new Your Phone app design, and more.
At the time of writing, only Windows Insiders can get this new update, but it's not long until it'll launch on Windows 11 proper. As such, read on as we discuss how to use the best features coming in the Windows 11 22504 update.
1. New Touch Keyboard Themes
The Windows 11 22504 update introduces new ways to personalize your text input experience. You can now apply the 13 available touch keyboard themes to other input experiences such as the emoji panel, voice typing, and even IMEs.
You also get the possibility of creating a fully customized theme using the Windows 11 theme engine. Once you get the update can try out the new theme engine through Settings > Personalization > Text input.
2. Personalized Emojis
Building on personalization features, the latest Windows 11 Insider Build makes it possible for users to personalize skin tones and faces of emojis and combine them with different emojis such as couples, families, and more.
Once the update arrives on your PC, you should be able to check out the new emojis right away. You can do so by launching the emoji panel through Win + Period (.) and then clicking on the + icon of a couple, family, kissing, or holding hands emoji.
3. Exploring the Redesigned "Your Phone" App
Windows 11 Insiders should brace themselves for an evolved Your Phone app. The new design focuses on helping you stay on top of everything without needing to take your phone out.
There are significant enhancements to how notifications are displayed. The redesigned Your Phone app will provide real-time notifications from your most-used apps in a pretty nifty and organized manner. You can easily access calls, photos, and messages at any time and even quickly glance at important notifications without getting dragged in.
Once the update drops for you, be sure to open the Your Phone app and poke around with the new look and feel with the app.
