Apple's Family Sharing feature allows you to save money on subscriptions and products by sharing them with friends and family. An organizer creates the group pays for services, and willing members opt in.

How to Leave a Family Sharing Group on an iPhone or iPad
You can leave a Family Sharing group on an iPhone or iPad from the Settings menu. Here's how to do it:
- Open Settings and tap Family underneath your name
- Tap the name attributed to the Apple ID; it should have (Me) beside the name.
- Choose Stop Using Family Sharing at the bottom of the page and tap it again when prompted.
Once you select that, the organizer will receive a notification that you have left the Family Sharing group. You can always rejoin the Family Sharing group by asking the organizer for an invite.
How to Leave a Family Sharing Group on a Mac
If your Apple ID is tied to a Mac, or that's all you have available, you can also use your Mac to leave a Family Sharing group. Follow the steps below:
- Click the Apple logo on the menu bar and choose System Settings.

Select Family and choose your profile. It should have (Me) beside the name.

Click Stop Using Family Sharing in the Apple ID section of the profile sub-window.
- Select Stop Using Family Sharing again when you're prompted to confirm your action.
If you regret doing this at some point later, you can always rejoin the Family Sharing group by asking the organizer for an invite.
Family Sharing Is a Cost-Saving Solution
It's better to be in a Family Sharing group than not to be. It's a good way to avoid doubling expenditure on services. That way, the group can save money and even get better deals than if they paid individually.
That's why we strongly recommend that you should be in a Family Sharing group at any given time so you can split costs with loved ones. But if you don't want it, you can always leave.
