In our earlier post, we saw how you could remove the Send feedback button from the new Microsoft Edge browser. Likewise, you can also choose to hide or remove Share Button in Microsoft Edge Chromium.

The latest version of the Edge browser, in addition to Collections and Feedback button, can show a ‘Share’ button. With this dedicated button in the Microsoft Edge browser, you can share a web page URL link via Microsoft Store app, or copy link to your clipboard. However, if you don’t find it that useful, you can remove it from the browser using any one of the three ways:

  1. Remove Share Button directly from the Toolbar
  2. Hide Share Button via Microsoft Edge Settings
  3. Remove Share Button from the Microsoft Edge Settings menu.

Let’s cover the above steps in a bit detail!

1] Remove Share Button directly from the Toolbar

Open Microsoft Edge.

2] Hide Share Button via Microsoft Edge Settings

Launch Microsoft Edge browser

Go to ‘Settings and more’ option (visible as 3 horizontal dots) and select ‘Settings

Now, when the ‘Settings’ section opens, click/tap on ‘Appearance’.

Just under ‘Customize Toolbar’ section, you’ll find ‘Show share button’ option.

The button is disabled by default. To enable it, simply toggle the switch to ‘On’ position.

3] Remove Share Button from Microsoft Edge Settings menu

Open Microsoft Edge and go to ‘Settings and more’ menu. Alternatively, you can press Alt+F key to go to the same option.

Earlier this feature was available only to Edge Insiders but with the rollout of the stable version of Edge, the feature is accessible to all Microsoft Edge users.
