The original Surface Duo now has yet another feature found on the Surface Duo 2. As part of the February Update for the dual-screen foldable, Microsoft has now made it possible for you to use Your Phone's "Apps" feature to run individual Android apps from your Surface Duo phone right on your Windows PC (via Windows Central.)
This update comes in at around 560 MB in size and bumps the latest version of the software on the unlocked Surface Duo up to version 2022.111.64. It's not yet available for AT&T locked models, however, as Microsoft says it is pending final validation. Expect the AT&T version of this update in two weeks. Anyway, here's the full changelog for you folks with unlocked devices.
As you might recall, the Surface Duo 2 picked up this same ability to use the Your Phone "Apps" feature back in January. Previously, Surface Duo and Surface Duo 2 users could only stream their entire screen with Phone Screen. This update now lets you see all the apps from your Surface Duo in one hub in Your Phone, and open them individually in windows, or even pin it to your Taskbar or Start Menu.
In other news, the Surface Duo 2 also got a software update. As we reported, this update significantly boosted the touch performance, as well as animations, and the camera. Our friend Shane Craig has a nice overview of how the update fixes the Duo 2 if you're curious.
