New Windows 11 build hits the Dev Channel with good set of fixes

Windows 11 is set for launch out of beta on October 5, but Microsoft is treating Windows Insiders with a fresh new Dev Channel build. There's not anything new, however, and this build is focused on bug fixes. Here's what you need to know about the latest build, 22471.

There's a couple of important notes this week on the build numbers. Microsoft is updating the build expiration reminder. Previous Dev Channel builds from the RS_PRERELEASE branch will expire on 10/31/2021. To avoid hitting this expiration, you should be sure to update to the latest Dev Channel build today.

Anyway, other than that, Microsoft is delivering some significant changes, improvements, and fixes with today's build. These cover Taskbar, File Explorer, Input, and more. Have a look below for everything you need to know.

Note that there are issues with the Start Menu, Taskbar, and search in this release. If you're updating your Windows 11 install from an ISO you might also get an error code. These issues and the others are noted below.

Happy downloading, Windows Insiders!
