Microsoft has just released the Windows 11 Insider build 22538 for testers in the Dev channel. This new build improves the Voice Access feature previously introduced in the build 22518, allowing Insiders to use voice commands for clicking keys on the Windows 11 touch keyboard.
The other notable change in this build is that the focus rectangle that shows what is selected in Alt + Tab, Task View, and Snap Assist will now use the chosen accent color on a Windows 11 PC. The accent color can already be seen on the Windows 11 Start Menu, the Taskbar, as well as title bars and windows borders, and it’s nice to see Microsoft bringing it to other places.
Today’s build 22538 also brings other changes and improvements, including a fix for a bug that caused File Explorer to crash when pressing the hardware buttons for volume up and down. You can find the full list of new features, bug fixes, and known issues in the Windows 11 build 22538 below:
The Windows 11 Insider build 22538 is the third flight of the new year for Insiders in the Dev Channel, and it seems that the team is back to releasing new builds on Wednesdays. Last week, the build 22533 brought a redesigned flyout menu for volume, which replaced the one that's been around since the Windows 8 era. Microsoft is slowly but surely making the design of Windows 11 more cohesive, and the accent color changes in today's build 22538 are another small step in the right direction.
